Last Sunday, a friend of mine invited me to an event called NUDE: a creative gathering. Its a gathering of all areas of the creative industry, and even though my day job is nowhere to being creative, she acknowledge my passion for networking as being part of the creativity in life. I am, after all, a self-confessed, network activist.

NUDE, a creative gathering, was organised by Mushi Mushi Agency, in an attempt to break all the red carpet and social status that discreetly divides the creative industry from being able to congregate at a level-playing field. So, on this particular Sunday evening, everyone stripped off their title to just becoming a NUDIST.

Mushi Mushi is an agency that focuses on entertainment content which specialisation in "Sound Branding". A very creative and artist driven agency, Mushi Mushi Agency works closely with brands that require entertainment content and programming and meet these needs through music.

According to Mushi Mushi when asked why the concept NUDE was chosen,

Mushi Mushi Agency: As a name and concept, NUDE represents the ability to lose all inhibitions and restrictions regardless of where we come from or who we are…
In essence, it’s a clean slate so to speak in the quest to move forth to horizons yet to be explored…

The NUDE community is hungry to Communicate, Inspire & Discover…

The purpose, of NUDE is to honour the select few who through the years have made Creative Malaysia what it is today. The NUDE community (aka NUDISTS) would rather remain true to their vision then settle for less at any cost. This clarity is what has propelled these individuals to uncharted heights.

“IT IS THIS COMMON PASSION FOR CREATIVITY WHICH BINDS US TOGETHER AS ‘THE NUDE COMMUNITY’.

LEAVING OUR INHIBITIONS BEHIND, STRIVING FOR PERFECTION, GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN & STANDING OUT FROM THE CROWD.

THROUGH THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY… WE ARE STILL HERE. THIS CONGREGATION IS A CELEBRATION OF OUR DEDICATION & LOVE

THAT WE CONTINUE TO GIVE & LIVE BY”. haZe

Not only that it was my first time in Luna Bar (the view is breath-taking from up there, what an amazing place to hold a party), I was honoured to meet some of the most creative people in Malaysia, not only those warm and hip people of Mushi Mushi Agency, but also top photographers, artists, singers, celebrities, DJs and all sorts of creative people. It is after all a creative gathering. Its great to see familiar faces as well, and its a great ending to a relaxing Weekend.

Coming to this inaugural Creative Gathering, I found it to be a new branding for social events, and asked Mushi Mushi if they plan to keep this as their signature event,

Mushi Mushi Agency: Yes we do plan to keep NUDE a signature Mushi Mushi Agency event.

NUDE is meant to be a “Creative Gathering;” it’s not positioned to be just another social affair, but an avenue to create dialogue and a space to explore thoughts, ideas and collaborations with Creative Malaysia.

NUDE will evolve with us over the next year. New platforms and avenues will be introduced as we get more familiar with who our Nude Community is and what it is that they need to further their craft. For some, their dream might be to break into the international market, for others it may be funding in order to launch their careers locally. Our hopes are to Identify the needs of our Creative Community and follow through by helping them find solutions. The NUDE platform is very dear to HAZE’s heart (Mushi Mushi’s company Director). HAZE is a world renowned producer, singer, songwriter. He is the first Malaysian to have a #1 hit in the BBC Dance Singles Charts. HAZE has been releasing chart topping hits in Europe & America since 2001. He has developed this NUDE platform based on what he feels would have helped him as a young artist to break into the scene years ago. It is his time to give back to KL and help open doors overseas for his fellow Malaysians.

We realize that not everyone is capable of making it in the International Arena, but a few will be. Mushi hopes to use our Global Network to create the opportunity and support required to Cross Waters and Cultures. This is where it’s going to get really interesting…

I would like to thank Mushi Mushi Agency for organising such a great event with a gathering of more than 100 creative individuals flooding the great rooftop poolside called Luna Bar.

And Mushi Mushi Agency also would like to shout out to their first bacth of NUDISTS,

Mushi Mushi Agency: ... So many people contributed to make NUDE a success. Having no Cash Sponsors, made it much more challenging to carry out our vision for NUDE…. Yet, it was far more rewarding in the end! Thank God for good Ol’ Johnnie Walker, who gave us the strength to “Keep On Walkin”!!!!

Launching the first NUDE was a truly amazing experience for us. We received such
Incredible love and support from our Creative Community, who had faith in our vision and came together to make it happen. Without so many talented individuals donating their Art, Expertise, Talent, Equipment, Tech Support and LOVE, NUDE would not have been possible.

The Vow

Do you date?

No, I don't. Do I need to date?

Well, everyone looks for love.

No, maybe not me. Maybe I don't know. Maybe there's no one for me. Maybe. But, frankly speaking, I don't care. I do appear like a fucked up emotional person, but I realised, all I have time for is work, trying to please my parents, trying to make amends for not being home enough, trying to accommodate friends here and there and trying to survive.

What if someone comes up to you and tell you they like you?

I doubt there's any.

Don't you want to be with someone?

I am very insecure. I don't think I'm a girlfriend-material type of person. Everyone loves to hangout with me, but they're scared of dating me, I guess.

Why?

Because I want more. I want companionship and equal partnership. Something people around me don't believe anymore. Its more like a sexual lovey dovey experience when dating is concerned. Its more like being socially accepted and trying to fit in.

Have you been in love? You sound so skeptical about it.

I have, yes. In the most deep way. We found comfort in partnership, being at the same intellectual level, understanding the same things we face, and believing in each other's dream and passion.

Then what happened?

Then it became too good to be true and somehow, it seems unattainable.

How is it too good to be true?

Because we lost the spark. We became 2 people who complements each other, who trusts each other so much until I got too comfortable not fighting for what I want.

So then, trust is overrated in this case?

No, it was misused. By both parties.

How are you going to move on if you're not letting go?

I have moved on. I let go. But apparently, I don't find the need to stop anywhere anymore. They all wanted something I can't give. And they are not willing to give something that I want.

Can you live a life without even flings?

Flings are tiring.

Are you sexually deprived then?

No, I'm celibate ... for now.

Are you looking for someone?

It'll be nice to have someone. But for now, I'm nobody's find.

But people do find happiness in love.

I wish them all the best. I respect those who does, I wish for the best of love between them and their loved ones. I'm too insecure for love. Hence I became a skeptic. But thats my own take. Some people believe in God, some people don't, thats their own take. Mine is this. I believe in love, but its not for me yet.

Do you think all this negativity about love is somehow sending a negative aura that blocks love from coming your way?

Everything happens for a reason.

And what might your reason be?

That I'm a troublesome 26 year old who have dual personality issue to come up with such a conversation with this voice in my head and document it in my blog.

ITS A TRAVELOGUE

trav·e·logue also trav·e·log
(trāv'ə-lôg', -lŏg') Pronunciation Key
n.
  1. A lecture about travel, often accompanied by a film, a video, or slides.
  2. A narrated film or video about travel.

Last year, at about the same date, someone advised (warned) me not to use the word 'travelogue' because its her original idea and out of respecting originality, I'm not allowed to use the word. So after my trip to Jakarta last year, I can't write a 'travelogue' to respect someone's ridiculous claim of originality. For her its like 'Don't use NIKON cameras because I bought them first!". Well, some people are just funny. I hope she doesn't actually believe she invented the word 'travelogue' itself.

This year, I've decided to use the word 'travelogue'.

Because this year, regardless her claim of originality and ownership of the concept, I've found out that it is a common phrase or term for logs of travel with supplementary pictures or other media files.

Plus, compared to her, I have more than enough friends for copyright, intellectual property rights, legal and writer friends to consult with upon the matter. I'm not bitter, its just I'm overcoming my nice self to respect other people who has no respect towards others. Especially in claims of originality like these. Especially when that exact person is one who quote poems randomly, put it as captions for her pictures and not credit the original writer/poet?

Well ...

I'll upload the pictures tonight and write the TRAVELOGUE soon!

Venting - if it is one anyways

Care. I do care. I do care alone. I try so hard. At times, trying hard might not be visible. At times, it can be taken as all talk but no action. But. I do .... care to try so very hard.

It is all bullshit. It is definitely lies. I respect those who have it. Those who are blessed with it. It bring smiles. And its the foundation of mankind. But its not for me. I don't see it. I believe in mysterious invisible things. I am spiritual. But hope is a different thing all together.

Happiness is there. Waiting whenever you want to find it.

I kept on thinking about the past. Nothing to regret. But just think and think about it. Non-stop.

My funny valentine is myself.

Thats enough for me.

I'm all exhausted from words, and I'm tired from feeling.

Thats enough for now ....
